Permanent or Temporary Water Disconnection
At Crown Utilities, we provide two options for disconnecting your water supply: either a permanent or temporary disconnection.
A permanent disconnection involves excavating and removing any supply pipes outside the boundary of the property and is performed when a building is due to be demolished and water supply is longer be required.
If you’re carrying out renovation works, you can have a temporary water disconnection to a new position within your site for a set period of time, which can be used as a Temporary Building Supply ( T.B.S.) Once any work is completed, the T.B.S. can then be reconnected to a permanent supply.
Something to keep in mind
If you share the same water supply with another property, we may need to separate the existing supply first. If this is the case we would need to perform a site investigation before any work is undertaken to gain insight into what the job entails, the cost involved and to ensure there are no hidden costs down the line.
Is the property occupied?
Crown Utilities is unable to perform a water disconnection for any domestic property that is still occupied. If the property will be uninhabited by a particular date you will need to provide confirmation in writing from the registered owner before any work commences.
Requirements for a Disconnection
To help your request we require the following information before we can start the disconnection process:
- The address of the property (house name/number and postcode)
- The serial number of the meter (if a meter is present)
- If you are the owner of the property or if you have permission from the owner
- A date when you would like to disconnect the water supply
- If the property is uninhabited or a date when it will be
